Alexander Bublik loses cool again while playing ‘f******* stupid’ sport; set to pay for breaking rackets
Alexander Bublik is not having much fun at the moment when it comes to results at top-level events as he has lost seven consecutive singles matches with the latest a first-round exit from the Rotterdam Open while he can expect an invoice from his racket supplier following his antics last week.
The Kazakh player started his year with back-to-back defeats at the United Cup and followed it up with first-round exits from ASB Classic and Australian Open before losing both his singles rubbers in the Davis Cup tie against Chile.
Last week he exited the Open Sud de France in disgrace as he smashed three rackets during his defeat to Gregoire Barrere in the round of 32.

He was hoping to finally end his drought on Monday, but Stan Wawrinka was not a mood to give gifts away as the three-time Grand Slam winner won 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at the Rotterdam Open.
But the match was once again not without drama as Bublik went off against the chair umpire late in the second set, shouting: “I’m complaining how stupid this f****** sport is, because it is f******* stupid. Playing tennis is a headache.”
His latest blow-up comes after he broke three rackets in Montpellier with his title defence of the Open Sud de France over in round one.
And it appears he will have to pay for those smashed rackets with Warwrinka – who will actually team up with Bublik in the men’s doubles in Rotterdam on Tuesday – himself replying to a tweet about the incident saying: “Yonex will send him a small invoice too 😉”
Argentine Marcos Zugasti echoed Wawrinka’s comments, adding: “This answer from Stan. Random fact: since 2017, Yonex began to put clauses in several of the contracts with its players to charge them a fee for each racket they break in matches. And the Japanese comply: you get the discount invoice.”
Bublik has slipped to No 50 in the ATP Rankings with his last win on the Tour coming in October when he reached the quarter-final of the Swiss Indoors.
