Andrey Rublev may have endured some high profile meltdowns in 2023 but had a decent season overall.

He ended the season in the top ten again and claimed a maiden Masters title in Monaco.

There are four ATP 250 events in the first week, and Rublev is set to headline one of them.

Andrey Rublev’s possible 2024 tennis calendar

Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open – January 1-8

Rublev will lead the field at the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open in the first week of the new season. He will begin the 2024 season at the ATP 250 in Hong Kong, with the first edition of the tournament since 2002 to begin main-draw play on New Year’s Day.

Australian Open – January 15-28

In 2023, Rublev equalled his best effort at the Grand Slam in Melbourne with a run to the last eight. The conditions do suit him but questions remain about his mentality in five-set tennis.

ABN AMRO Open – February 12 -18

The 2021 champion in Rotterdam, Rublev is expected to only get back into action on the ATP Tour in week 7. Rublev lost his first match in the Dutch city in 2023 after returning to action following a quarter-final surge in Melbourne.

Qatar ExxonMobil Open – February 19-24

Rublev has opted to play in both Qatar and the UAE in past seasons in the lead up to the Sunshine double. He reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 event.

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships – February 26 – March 2

Rublev was the losing finalist in Dubai in 2023 but won four matches in great style at the ATP 500 tournament. He had been the defending champion having claimed the Championships in 2022.

Indian Wells Masters – March 6-17

Rublev is likely to get his first crack at adding to his Masters tally at Indian Wells. He reached the Round of 16 in 2023.

Miami Open – March 18-31

Rublev also gained the last 16 in Miami last term and will be out to put in a much-improved effort. His best shift in Miami came in 2021 when he reached the last four.

Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters – April 7-14

Rublev is unlikely to seek any sort of clay warmup ahead of his return to Monte Carlo for his title defence. Rublev didn’t play between Miami and Monte Carlo in 2023.

Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – April 15-21

With Banja Luka off the schedule in April, Rublev is more likely to enter the Barcelona Open. Rublev skipped the tournament in 2023.

Mutua Madrid Open – April 24 – May 5

Rublev had looked good for a firm challenge in Madrid in 2023 but lost his third contest to compatriot Karen Khachanov. If he is fit he should be in the field at the second clay court Masters event of the season.

Rome Masters – May 8-19

The Russian started well in Rome in 2023 before another last 16 loss. This is a tournament he will feel that he can win.

Roland Garros – May 27-June 9

Rublev shouldn’t opt to play in the week before Roland Garros given the length of the clay season.

Terra Wortmann Open – Jun 17 -23

Rublev started his grass court season in Germany in 2023 and should do so again in 2024, either in Stuttgart or in Halle. Halle is an ATP 500 tournament and could serve as his only Wimbledon warm-up.

Wimbledon – July 1-14

Rublev will need to become more mobile to get his game working at Wimbledon but he could easily be a contender if he does. He has reached the quarter-finals before but will want to break the last eight barrier in 2024.

Nordea Open – July 15-21

Despite being low-profile, Rublev is expected to return to Sweden to defend his Nordea Open title. He won the event in 2023.

Paris Olympics – July 27-August 4

With positive news on Russian players it seems likely that Rublev will compete in the Olympics. The position of players is still to be clarified given the convoluted qualification rules.

National Bank Open – August 6 – 12

Rublev has not had a great time in Canada in the past and is yet to even reach the last eight. He should be back for another go in 2024.

Western & Southern Open – August 12-19

A finalist in Cincy in 2021, Rublev should be back to hunt Masters glory in Ohio. He lost in the second round in 2023.

US Open – August 26-September 8

Rublev reached the last eight here as well in 2023 and could be out to improve again. This season is a bit longer and that could make the US Open a bigger test.

China Open – September 26 – October 2

Rublev should be back in Beijing again in 2024 after returning in 2023.

Shanghai Masters – October 2 – 13

The beaten finalist here as well in 2023, Rublev booked his place in the ATP Finals at this event in 2023.

Erste Bank Open – October 21-27

Rublev played in Vienna in 2023 as his only indoor warmup ahead of Bercy.

Paris Masters – October 28 – November 3

Rublev ran Djokovic close in their semi-fina in 2023 and should be out to make more memories in 2024.
