Andy Murray vs Roman Safiullin, Cam Norrie vs Pedro Cachin: Starting times and TV and streaming info

Andy Murray antics

There are two big ATP 500 events taking place this week with Andy Murray featuring in the Swiss Indoors while Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans are in action at the Vienna Open.

After Jack Draper lost in the opening round against Carlos Alcaraz in Basel, Murray is the only British player remaining in the draw and he opens his account against world No 93 Roman Safiullin on Tuesday.

The three-time Grand Slam winner returns to action for the first time since losing in the quarter-final of the Gijon Open against Sebastian Korda. He was initially due to face Korda again, but the American withdrew on the back of reaching the final in Antwerp on Sunday.

Instead it will be a first-ever ATP Tour-level meeting between the former world No 1 and qualifier Safiullin. Murray, who is now No 49 in the ATP Rankings, is 28-18 this year.

The winner of that clash will face either sixth seed Roberto Bautista Agut or qualifier Laslo Dere in the second round while a third-round meeting with one of Casper Ruud, Stan Wawrinka or Brandon Nakashima is on the cards.

Ruud and Wawrinka will meet in a tasty opening clash with the winner going on to face American Nakashima, who beat David Goffin on Monday.

Vienna Open

Over in Austria, British No 1 Norrie – who lost in the quarter-final of the Stockholm Open last week after returning following his Covid-19 layoff – kicks off his campaign against Pedro Cachin from Argentina. Norrie is still in with a chance of qualifying for the ATP Finals, but he will need a good run in Vienna as well as the Paris Masters next week.

British No 2 Dan Evans will get proceedings underway in the ATP 500 tournament on Tuesday as he takes on Oscar Otte in the first round. Evans was initially due to face Matteo Berrettini, but the Italian withdrew from the tournament.

Other good matches in Vienna will see local hero and 2020 US Open winner Dominic Thiem up against Tommy Paul while fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz takes on Frances Tiafoe.
