Carlos Alcaraz’s Queen’s Club Championships title has helped him to edge closer to Jannik Sinner at No 1 in the ATP Rankings while Jack Draper has secured his highest-seeded position for Wimbledon.

Sinner had a 3,500-point lead over Alcaraz just over two months ago, but the Spaniard has since won the Monte Carlo Masters, Italian Open, French Open and the Queen’s Club event.

With his four titles, second-placed Alcaraz is now 1,130 points behind his big rival in the standings.

Sinner dropped 450 points after he failed to defend his Halle Open crown – moving to 10,430 points – while Alcaraz now sits on 9,300 points after adding 450 points on the back of his second title in London.

But the Italian, who has now spent 55 consecutive weeks at No 1, looks set to remain at the top after Wimbledon as he is defending 1,300 points at SW19 while Alcaraz won the trophy last year so will defend 2,000 points.

Alexander Zverev’s semi-final defeat in Halle means the German remains well adrift in third place while Draper climbed two places back to his career-best fourth place.

The 23rd June rankings update is the cutoff for Wimbledon seedings and it means Draper is now assured of being the fourth seed at his home major, which is one spot better than at this year’s French Open.

The British No 1 is followed by Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic, Lorenzo Musetti, Holger Rune, Daniil Medvedev and Ben Shelton.
