ATP Rankings: Jannik Sinner still dominant, Jenson Brooksby +335, Flavio Cobolli +9

Jenson Brooksby, Flavio Cobolli and Luciano Darderi were the trophy winners on the ATP Tour last week and they were all rewarded with rankings jumps, but Jannik Sinner remains well clear at the top.
Former world No 33 Brooksby was the biggest winner as he came through qualifying at the US Men’s Clay Court Championship and went all the way, beating top seed Tommy Paul in the semi-final and second seed Frances Tiafoe in the showpiece match in Houston.
The 24-year-old, who finished runner-up in his three previous ATP Tour finals, started the week at No 507 and became the third-lowest ranked singles champion after Marin Cilic (No 777) and Lleyton Hewitt (No 550).
He has surged 335 places up the rankings to No 172 with his title run.
The American missed several months of action over the past two years due to a ban for failing to show up for three anti-doping tests while he also underwent two wrist operations in 2023.
“It means the world,” Brooksby said during the post-match presentation ceremony. “It was one of my biggest goals ever since I have been a professional tennis player. It means a lot to have my first one. It’s probably the best week of my life.”
Cobolli won the Romanian Open as he defeated Sebastian Baez in straight sets to win his maiden ATP Tour singles title. With it came a nine-place rise to No 36 – six places off his career best.
Fellow Italian Darderi won his second title as he beat Tallon Griekspoor in three sets in the Grand Prix Hassan II final and he also climbed nine spots to move to No 48.

Top 5 contenders for the Monte Carlo Masters title – ranked: ft. Alcaraz, Djokovic, Tsitsipas
At the top of the rankings, Sinner and the rest of the top 10 didn’t compete last week so the status quo remains with the Italian maintaining his 2,685-point lead over Alexander Zverev with Carlos Alcaraz another 925 points adrift in third place.
Sinner is now in his 44th consecutive week at No 1 and has moved into 13th place in the all-time list, one ahead of Gustavo Kuerten, while Jim Courier on 58 weeks is his next target.
Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic complete the top five while Jack Draper is up to a new career-high No 6 after Casper Ruud dropped one place after opting not to defend his points from his 2024 Estoril semi-final run.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur close out the top 10 while there were no changes between 11th and 20th.
Further down the list Vit Kopriva makes his top 100 debut as he is up 11 places to no 95 after reaching the last eight in Morocco while 22-year-old American Colton Smith was a surprise quarter-finalist in Houston and he is up 32 places to No 168.
After skipping the first week of clay-court action in 2025, the big names will all return this week as they will feature at the Monte Carlo Masters where Tsitsipas is the defending champion.
