Cameron Norrie’s brilliant run continues in Auckland

Cameron Norrie is two wins away from his ATP Tour singles title after reaching the last four of the ASB Classic.
British No 2 Norrie, who played under the New Zealand flag until 2013, overcame American Taylor Fritz 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 in just over an hour and 30 minutes to reach his fourth ATP semi-final.

There were no breaks of serve in the opening set, which Norrie took via the tie-breaker, while the only break in the second set came in game eight.
Norrie, who lost his previous four semi-finals, will face world No 58 Jan-Lennard Struff for a place in the final after the German beat fourth seed Pablo Carreno Busta 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (6-8), 7-6 (9-7).

Philipp Kohlschreiber, meanwhile, upset second seed Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-1 in one hour and five minutes to set up a clash with Tennys Sandgren, who ousted Leonardo Mayer with a 6-3 7-6 (7-5) win.
