Defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga out of Rotterdam Open

Jo-Wiflried Tsonga won’t be able to defend his Rotterdam Open trophy after he picked up an injury during his semi-final match in Montpellier.
The Frenchman was leading 6-1, 5-5 in his Open Sud de France last-four match against compatriot Lucas Pouille when he pulled his hamstring and was forced to retire.
“A big (tear), a little one, I don’t know yet, I’m going to have to have more tests,” Tsonga said in the post-match interview.
It means the 32-year-old won’t be able to compete in the Rotterdam event and will be replaced by a lucky loser in the main draw.
