Fabio Fognini stuns Juan Martin del Potro to claim Los Cabos crown

Juan Martin del Potro will have to wait to complete the ‘Mexican double’ after being stunned by Fabio Fognini in the final of Los Cabos.
The Argentinian won the ATP Tour event in Acapulco earlier this year, and looked strong favourite to add Los Cabos to his collection, especially after racing into a 3-0 lead early on.
Wow. Fabio Fognini wins 12 of the last 15 games to beat Juan Martín Del Potro 6-4, 6-2 and win in Los Cabos his 8th career title, 3rd of the season, and first EVER on hardcourts at 31yo.

However, he quickly lost his way, and Fognini roared back into the match, especially on Del Potro’s second serve on which the Italian won all but six of 21 points, before eventually sealing a 6-4 6-2 win.
There was some joy for the home crowd too, as Mexican Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela claimed the men’s doubles crown with Marcelo Arevalo.
