He’s done it! ‘I couldn’t be more proud of myself,’ says Cameron Norrie after winning maiden ATP Tour title

Cameron Norrie can at last call himself an ATP Tour singles champion after winning the Los Cabos Open on the back of a straight-sets win over Brandon Nakashima.
Playing in his fifth ATP final, Norrie finally got over the final hurdle as he secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory over American Nakashima in one hour and 23 minutes.

The British No 2 edged ahead in game three when he broke to love and he backed it up with a second break in game five before serving it out.
He followed a similar script in the second set with a break in game three, but Nakashima hit back in game four before Norrie won the final four games to wrap up the win.
“I feel very happy. I couldn’t be more proud of myself, proud of my team and how I handled the week. I am happy how I improved every match,” he told ATP Tour.
“I used my experience a little bit today and I think it showed in the match. I think it’s a huge bonus. It was always a goal of mine to get my first title. Obviously I’d lost three finals this year, so it was very nice to get over the line today. I’m going to enjoy it tonight and then [go] straight back to work.”
