‘He’s got tremendous power in his game’: Novak Djokovic hails rival as future tennis great

Novak Djokovic has hailed Dominic Thiem as a major star in the tennis’ future as the Austrian prepares to torpedo his French Open dreams.
Thiem reached the Roland Garros final last year, and he has once again been in fine form this year.
And, as Djokovic prepares to face the Thiem in the semi-finals, he has little doubt that his opponent is primed to succeed at the top level.
“Dominic is deservedly where he is, one of the top four guys, especially on clay,” Djokovic told reporters.
“He’s got that tremendous power in his game, especially with forehand and serve. I think backhand also has improved a lot in the last couple of years.
“If he continues playing this way, not just on clay, I think we will probably be seeing him more often on different surfaces in the final stages of the tournament.
