Jan-Lennard Struff sets up Dominic Thiem clash at St Petersburg Open
Jan-Lennard Struff saw off the challenge of Andrey Rublev to book a clash with Dominic Thiem at the St Petersburg Open.
The German required only one hour and eight minutes to beat Russian Rublev 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) and book a second-round encounter with top seed Thiem.

Damir Dzumhur kicked off the defence of his title with a solid victory over Lucas Miedler from Austria, winning 7-5, 6-3 in one hour and 24 minutes to set up a match with either Ilya Ivashka or Guido Pella.

Meanwhile, eighth seed Daniil Medvedev gave the Russian crowd something to be cheerful about as he defeated Joao Sousa 6-4, 6-1 in one hour and seven minutes.
Matteo Berrettini had a tougher encounter as he needed more than two hours to beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-3.
