Judy Murray calls on young Tennis365 readers to join her on court in Portugal this month
Judy Murray is calling on young Tennis365 readers join her for some exclusive tennis coaching camps at The Campus in Quinta do Lago, Portugal, later this month.
The former Great Britain Federations Cup captain and mother of Grand Slam champions Andy and Jamie will be staging her first children’s coaching camp in the Algarve from October 29th to November 2nd, and there are still some places left for what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to share court time with one of the most famous faces in UK tennis.
Judy’s tennis masterclasses at The Campus will see her use the fun games that were instrumental in ensuring her boys were hooked on tennis from a young age, with her techniques proven to offer success.
“I’m delighted to have partnered with The Campus at Quinta do Lago and am looking forward to welcoming children of all ages and abilities to my inaugural tennis camp in October half-term,” Murray said.
“I understand very well what tennis will demand of a young player, so I focus on developing adaptable, problem-solving athletes. My philosophy is all about creating games and exercises that will do the teaching for me, so that players learn without realising.
“The camps are going to offer a mix of skill building activities, tennis specific movement training, interactive games and recreations competitions for all ages and abilities.”
The addition of Judy Murray to the Quinta do Lago team adds to a hugely impressive tennis set-up at the resort, with Zé Pereira Lopes (Tennis Director and Head Tennis Professional), looking forward to welcoming such a prominent figure on the sparkling new courts at The Campus.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Judy Murray and inspire the next generation to pick up a racquet – whatever your level,” Ze told us.
“We’re here to support you and make sure you have fun with your family and friends. We invite all guests to ‘Be Bold’ and ‘Bring Your Game’ with Judy Murray!
“Our team, led by Judy, will stretch you and test your game, and push your limits to help you achieve your goals. We look forward to seeing you in the sunny Algarve in October, and giving you our usual warm welcome.”
