Kei Nishikori overcomes Grigor Dimitrov to move into Brisbane semis
Kei Nishikori dented Grigor Dimitrov’s hopes of a winning start to the season after winning their Brisbane Open quarter-final clash 7-5 7-5.
Dimitrov, who has added Andre Agassi to his coaching team in an attempt to regain his form, let 4-1 in the second set but was unable to see it out and take the match to a decider.
Instead, it was Nishikori who now progresses to the semi-finals.
There, he will meet Frenchman Jeremy Chardy after he qualifier Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan 6-4 3-6 7-6.
