Kyle Edmund passes first-round test against Peter Gojowczyk in Beijing
Kyle Edmund was made to work for his victory at the China Open as he came from a set down to beat Peter Gojowczyk.
German Gojowczyk won the opening set courtesy of two breaks of serve to one, but the British No 1 hit back in the next two sets to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Edmund managed to break three times in the second set and twice in the decider to move into the second round where he will face either Matteo Berrettini or Leonardo Mayer.
Meanwhile, wildcard Feliciano Lopez upset seventh seed Borna Coric with the Spaniard saving three match points to secure a 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 victory.

Karen Khachanov from Russia earned himself a clash against top seed Martin del Potro as he eased to a 6-4, 6-4 win over American Sam Querrey while Marton Fucsovics beat Andreas Seppi 6-3, 6-4.
