Marin Cilic made to work for Madrid Masters progression, but Grigor Dimitrov fails again

Marin Cilic moved into the second round of the Madrid Masters, but he had to save four match points first.
The Croatian was given a stiff test against Martin Klizan but was able to battle through and claim a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-0) win.
It was a marathon of a match at 2 hours 48 minutes, but Cilic will now face Jan-Lennard Struff for a place in round three.
Grigor Dimitorv still can’t gain any traction though after losing 7-6 (10-8), 7-6 (7-4) to qualifier Taylor Fritz, whose reward is a second round showdown with Novak Djokovic.
Elsewhere, Karen Khachanov overcame Juame Munar 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, and Gael Monfils was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Andreas Seppi.
