Carlos Alcaraz has become the latest player to record 200 ATP Tour-level wins and he has done it in only 252 matches.

But where does that put him in terms of the quickest to 200 wins by the 29 players who have been No 1 in the world?

The 21-year-old Alcaraz achieved the 200-win feat with victory over Tallon Griekspoor at the China Open as he became only the third player born in the 2000s to notch up the milestone after Jannik Sinner (born in 2001) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (born in 2000).

The Spaniard reached the 100-win achievement – fascinatingly, also against Griekspoor – at the 2023 Indian Wells Open.

His record was 100-32 at the time as he reached the milestone faster than the likes of Andre Agassi (100-35), Rafael Nadal (100-37), Novak Djokovic (100-43) and Roger Federer (100-69).

John McEnroe was the only former world No 1 to be quicker to 100 Tour-level wins as he had a record of 100-31.

And seven-time Grand Slam winner McEnroe is once again the only current or former world No 1 to achieve the double century faster than Alcaraz.

All-time greats Djokovic and Federer are well down the list with the former in joint-14th place as he took 274 matches (200-74) to record 200 wins while Federer is in 24th spot as he took more than 300 matches (200-102).

Current world No 1 Jannik Sinner is level with Djokovic as he also had a 200-74 record.

The 7 men’s world No 1s to reach 200 ATP wins the quickest:

Romanian Ilie Nastase spent 40 weeks at No 1 and he was 200-64 when he reached the magical 200 wins in top-level tennis.

Nastase went on to reach 908 wins in the Open Era and he finished his career with a 908-334 win-loss record.

6. Boris Becker

The youngest-ever Wimbledon winner, Boris Becker was 713–214 when he decided to hang up his racket in 1999.

Becker achieved the double century of wins with a 200-60 record.
