Miami Open: Frances Tiafoe sets up clash with Kyle Edmund

Kyle Edmund will play Delray Beach Open champion Frances Tiafoe in the second round of the Miami Open.

The up-and-coming American saw off Nicolas Kicker 6-3 7-6 (7/4) on Thursday to set up a potentially mouthwatering clash with new British number one Edmund.

Elsewhere, Thanasi Kokkinakis booked himself a date with Roger Federer by beating Calvin Hemery 6-1 6-2, while Tomas Berdych will take on Yoshihito Nishioka after the Japanese player overcame Alex de Minaue.

Nikoloz Basilashvili will face Kevin Anderson after overcoming a dreadful start to beat Thomas Fabbiano 1-6 6-2 7-5, and 11th seed Sam Querrey will face Radu Albot after the Moldovan beat qualifier Ricardas Berankis 6-1 4-6 7-6 (7/4).
