Nick Kyrgios: I’m personally not scared of Team Europe

They may be “undermanned” and have the “underdog” status, but Nick Kyrgios is confident Team World can beat Team Europe at this year’s Laver Cup.
Team Europe are once again the clear favourites to win the event in Geneva as they have world No 2 Rafael Nadal, world No 3 Roger Federer, world No 5 Dominic Thiem, world No 6, world No 7 Alexander Zverev and world No 11 Fabio Fognini on their squad.
John McEnroe’s World Team consists of John Isner (20), Milos Raonic (24), Kyrgios (27), Taylor Fritz (30), Denis Shapovalov (33) and Jack Sock (210).
Kyrgios, though, is ready to pull off an upset win with his team-mates.
“I mean, I’m personally not scared of that team. I have beaten every single one of their members, and I know guys on my team have beaten them before, as well,” he said.
“I mean, yeah, on paper we’re undermanned and we’re an underdog, but I don’t believe that, I strongly believe that we can win.
“Like we have been so close the last few years. We have had match points to win the whole thing. John had match points against Federer. I had match points against Federer. We got super unlucky.”
