The Croatian has endured a tough year since starting it so brilliantly at the Australian Open, but he decimiated his Polish foe 6-2 6-0 6-0.
He’ll now face Australian Alex de Minaur, who overcame young American Frances Tiafoe 6-4 6-0 5-7 6-2.
David Goffin advanced too, beating Robin Haase 6-2 6-7 6-3 6-2, but there was further frustration for Gael Monfils, who was forced to retire against Kei Nishikori with a wrist injury.
