Roger Federer regains ownership of his iconic ‘RF’ logo from former kit supplier Nike

Roger Federer has reportedly re-acquired his iconic ‘RF’ logo from sportswear manufacturer Nike, although it may not return to his tennis kit.
Federer split with Nike two years ago to sign a lucrative $300m deal with Japanese rival Uniqlo.
However, the ‘RF’ logo that he made famous and displayed on all his kit remained the property of Nike.
Federer revealed at the time that it would simply be a temporary problem, saying: “The good news is that it will come with me at one point.
“They are my initials. The good thing is it’s not theirs forever.
“In a short period of time, it will come to me.”
That time now appears to have passed, with multiple reports claiming that Swiss trademark documents have revealed Tenro AG, Federer’s commercial management company, acquired the rights in February.

It remains unclear, however, whether the logo will return to Federer’s tennis kits, with is seeming more likely to be used on footwear endorsement deals.
Federer is currently out injured until grass season after undergoing knee surgery following his run to the Australian Open semi-finals.
