Elsewhere, it was a heavy old news day. First of all, Toni Nadal was in talkative mood, and that usually leads to revelations.

Rafael’s uncle and former coach discussed Roger Federer and his nephew’s true clay rivals, before dropping the controversial bombshell that he believes Alexander Zverev is already the better player on hard surfaces.

David Goffin is having none of it, though. He claims Rafael Nadal is ‘nearly impossible’ to defeat on clay.

Meanwhile, Kevin Anderson says he is focused on winning his first clay court title and he thinks he can go through Nadal to get it.

If he can’t do it on the red dirt, though, Wimbledon may be the place to get the job done – especially since they have announced a 7.6% hike in prize money for 2018.

What’s in the news
Former world number one and two-time Grand Slam winner Lleyton Hewitt made his return to tennis with an impressive doubles victory alongside Alex de Minaur at the Estoril Open in Portugal.

The Australians were in control to knock out second seeds Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus 6-4 6-4 in front of a packed crowd.

Meanwhile, Wimbledon have confirmed that both Andy Murray and Serena Williams could be given special seeding for the tournament.

Hi everybody… Many were asking me about what happend today, that I had to withdraw from the great tournament of Rabat, where I generously got a WC offered for Main Draw. Well, while warming up for my match today, after 10min, I ran for a drop shot, and at my 1st step, my right calf got torn. I felt a very sharp pain, and since then I’m unable to put weight on it and to walk normally… I got an amazing support of the WTA Physios here in Rabat, and much much love and support of players too! Thank you ! Special mention to Lara Arruabarrena, Aleks Krunic, Elise Mertens, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Tathiana Garbin for your warm words, and time, when I was at my worst… ❤️ I’m flying back to Switzerland tomorrow, and on thursday I’ll pass further exams to know my exact situation to plan my comeback, and my way to be healthy again… Love, T. ❤️ Ps ; Don’t worry, I’ll definetly come back !
