What’s in the news
The gender pay gap at the BBC is back in the news as tennis great Martina Navratilova has hit out at the “good old boy’s network” at the public broadcaster after it emerged that John McEnroe was paid 10 times more for his BBC role.
The Daily Mail’s Mike Dickson wrote a column on the gender pay gap and the subs went with the headline “Martina Navratilova may moan she’s paid 10 times less than John McEnroe by the BBC at Wimbledon… but he’s a far superior analyst”.
“While Navratilova can definitely boast a superior playing record by any measure — 18 Grand Slam titles to McEnroe’s seven, for example — few would consider her to be an equal draw as a broadcaster.”
There was a rude awakening for Andy Murray from Michael McIntyre as part of Sport Relief.
If the BBC Sport link doesn’t work, then there is always the Daily Mail.
