‘That would be a big statement’ – Novak Djokovic discusses his form after thrashing Karen Khachanov

Novak Djokovic is unwilling to say he is playing the best tennis of his career, but he is certainly happy with his form.
Djokovic continued his streak of winning every match he has played so far in 2020 when he beat Karen Khachanov 6-2, 6-2 in the quarter-finals of the Dubai Championships.
The win means he is certain to hold onto his world number one spot, but there was a bigger question on the mind of journalists in Dubai after his latest dominant success.
“I don’t know if I am playing the best tennis of my career,” Djokovic replied when asked the question directly.
“That’s a big statement, but I am feeling and playing well.
“I like the conditions, but in windy conditions it’s not easy to serve and find rhythm.
“I know it wasn’t Karen’s day, but I think I played a very solid match.
“I am trying to be in the present and execute my game plan.”
Djokovic’s form will be put to the test in the semi-finals, where he will face Gael Monfils.
