We can add Diego Schwartzman to our list of bizarre tennis injuries after he was kneed in the face by Dominic Thiem, by accident, of course.
The two players, along with Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal, were attending an ATP event at Boca Juniors’ La Bombonera Stadium ahead of the Argentina Open.
Of course they decided to have a game of football tennis and it didn’t go so well for Schwartzman as he took one to the face from his doubles partner Thiem.
As Thiem explained in the video below, his partner “put his head on my knee”.
Luckily for Schwartzman he didn’t pick up any serious injury and will still take part in his home event in Buenos Aires this week.
