Will Roger Federer win his ‘magical’ 100th ATP title in Dubai? Tournament director hopes so

Roger Federer has been stuck on 99 ATP Tour singles titles for a while now, but Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships tournament director Salah Tahlak hopes he will finally complete his century at the event.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner notched up title No 99 at the Swiss Indoors in Basel last year, but he has failed to reach another final after his win in October.
He will get another opportunity to get to three figures at next week’s event and Tahlak hopes Federer enjoys this “magical moment” moment in Dubai.
“For Roger, Dubai is important because his first official title came in Milan. It was a tournament owned by Dubai Duty Free. It has always been a great bond between Roger and Dubai,” he told Khaleed Times.
“So it’s very important to have him back. I hope the draw next Saturday will help him because if he reaches the final and wins it, it will be the number eight title for him in Dubai and that will also be the 100th title of his career.
“It will be a magical moment. It will also be a great legacy that he will be leaving behind if he wins his 100th title in Dubai.”
