Gallery: The very best snaps from a spectacular day five at the Australian Open
Third-round action continued at the Australian Open with Roger Federer, Rafael Nada, Sloane Stephens and Maria Sharapova all in action at Melbourne Park.
Things were looking a bit damp as play got underway…
There was a familiar, pretty much iconic, sight on court…

And like so many Federer challengers before him, the best Taylor Fritz could leave with was a handshake from a legend.

Speaking of legends, Andre Agassi was there to cheer on Grigor Dimitrov, who won.

As did Frances Tiafoe, who certainly enjoyed the moment.

Defending champion Caroline Wozniacki took her eye off the ball and surrendered her title, though.

Although, in fairness to her, Maria Sharapova did look like she was tough to keep an eye on too.

Ashleigh Barty, meanwhile, just looked plain sinister with her blood red backdrop.

An example that the skies above Melbourne soon followed.

And the view was no less spectacular inside the stadium.
All that remained was for Rafael Nadal to show the kind of ruthlessness the setting demanded, which he did.
