The 11 active ATP players to reach multiple Grand Slam finals: Novak Djokovic top, Jannik Sinner joins list at US Open
There are 11 active players on the ATP Tour who have reached multiple Grand Slam finals, with Jannik Sinner becoming the latest man to join this list at the 2024 US Open.
There are eight current players who have competed in three or more men’s major finals, while only three have featured in more than four.
Here are the 11 active male players who have reached two or more Grand Slam finals.
=9. Jannik Sinner – 2
Sinner has contested two Grand Slam finals in his career to date and he holds a perfect 2-0 record.
The Italian defeated Daniil Medvedev in five sets in his maiden major title match at the 2024 Australian Open and saw off Taylor Fritz in straight sets in the 2024 US Open final.
=9. Alexander Zverev – 2
Alexander Zverev has featured in two title matches at majors and holds an 0-2 record.
The German fell to Dominic Thiem in his maiden Grand Slam final at the 2020 US Open, before he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in his second one at Roland Garros this year.
=9. Stefanos Tsitsipas – 2
Stefanos Tsitsipas has played in two championship matches at Grand Slams and holds an 0-2 record.
The Greek was beaten by Novak Djokovic in his first Slam final at the 2021 French Open, before losing to the Serbian again in the 2023 Australian Open title match.

Casper Ruud has reached three Grand Slam title matches so far in his career and he holds an 0-3 record.
The Norwegian lost to Rafael Nadal in his maiden major final at the 2022 French Open, while he lost to Djokovic in his third at Roland Garros in 2023.
In addition to his two French Open finals, Ruud was a runner-up at the US Open in 2022.

Marin Cilic has contested three major championship matches and holds a 1-2 record.
The Croatian beat Kei Nishikori in his first Grand Slam final at the 2014 US Open, while he fell to Roger Federer at the 2018 Australian Open in his most recent one.
Cilic has made one final at each of the US Open, Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

Carlos Alcaraz has featured in four Grand Slam finals to date and has amassed a perfect 4-0 record.
The Spaniard saw off Ruud in his maiden major final at the 2022 US Open, while he downed Novak Djokovic in his most-recent one at Wimbledon this year.
Alcaraz has played in two Wimbledon finals, one US Open final and one French Open final.

Dominic Thiem, who will retire later this year, has played in four major title matches and holds a 1-3 record.
The Austrian lost to Nadal in his first Slam final at Roland Garros in 2018, while he defeated Alexander Zverev in his fourth and last one at the 2020 US Open.
Thiem reached two French Open finals, while he featured in one at both the Australian Open and the US Open.

Stan Wawrinka has reached four finals at Grand Slams and has compiled a 3-1 record.
The Swiss overcame Nadal in his maiden major final at the 2014 Australian Open, while he lost to the Spaniard in his last one at the 2017 French Open.
Wawrinka has featured in two Roland Garros championship matches, while he has played in one at both the Australian Open and the US Open.
3. Daniil Medvedev – 6
Daniil Medvedev has competed in six Grand Slam title matches so far and has amassed a 1-5 record.
The Russian was beaten by Nadal in his first major final at the 2019 US Open, while he fell to Sinner in his most recent one at the 2024 Australian Open.
Medvedev has reached all of his Slam finals at the hard-court majors: three at both the US Open and the Australian Open.
2. Rafael Nadal – 30
Rafael Nadal has featured in 30 major championship matches and holds a 22-8 record, having triumphed in his first-ever Slam final against Mariano Puerta at the 2005 French Open.
The Spaniard prevailed against Ruud in his 30th and most recent Grand Slam final at Roland Garros in 2022.
Nadal has reached 14 finals at the French Open, six at the Australian Open and five at both Wimbledon and the US Open.
1. Novak Djokovic – 37
Novak Djokovic has reached an astonishing 37 Grand Slam finals, which is an all-time tennis record, and he holds a 24-13 record.
The Serbian reached his maiden major championship match at the 2007 US Open and was beaten by Roger Federer, while he fell to Alcaraz in his most recent one at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
Djokovic has contested 10 finals at each of the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open, while he has reached seven at the French Open.
