The 6 active men to reach the QFs at the four Grand Slams and nine ATP Masters events as Alcaraz secures feat
Carlos Alcaraz has become the second youngest player since 1990 to reach the quarter-finals of all nine ATP Masters 1000 events after he cracked the last eight at the Italian Open.
But that is not the only achievement the young Spaniard notched up as he is now one of only six active players to reach the quarter-finals of all nine Masters and the four Grand Slams.
An appearance in the Rome Masters quarters was the only milestone missing from the Alcaraz CV after he recently won the Monte Carlo Masters.
But to be fair to former world No 1, before the 2025 edition he had played in the Italian capital once and that was in 2023 when he exited in the third round.
But the four-time Grand Slam winner has now completed the quarter-final “set” at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open and the nine Masters tournaments (Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome, Canada, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris).
Six active players have reached the quarter-finals of the four Grand Slams and nine ATP 1000 tournaments while a total of 10 (including Alcaraz) have appeared in the last eight of all nine Masters events.
The “missing” four from the list below are Gael Monfils, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz.
Monfils and Zverev are yet to make it to the quarter-final at Wimbledon, Tsitsipas has Wimbledon and the US Open missing from the list while Hurkacz hasn’t reached the last eight at Roland Garros and the US Open.
The 6 active players to reach the QFs of the four Grand Slams and nine ATP Masters
1. Novak Djokovic – 2009
Tennis great Djokovic, of course, remains the only man to WIN all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments and he has done it twice.
The Serbian completed his Grand Slam and Masters quarter-final set in Paris in 2009 and at that stage he had won the Australian Open, had a US Open runners-up trophy to his name and reached the semi-final at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
He delivered the Masters quarter-final achievement in emphatic fashion as he won the 2009 Paris title, but it would take him another nine years to complete the Career Masters as he won his maiden Cincinnati Open title in 2018.
2. Marin Cilic – 2019
2014 US Open winner Cilic secured his Grand Slam quarter-final milestone when he reached the last eight at the French Open in 2017 and two years later he completed the Masters set at the Madrid Open.
Interestingly, Cilic has reached and won only one ATP 1000 title and that was at the 2016 Cincinnati Open when he beat Andy Murray in the final.
3. Grigor Dimitrov – 2024
The Bulgarian was 32 years old when he reached the last eight of the Miami Open in 2024 to become one of a handful of active players to reach all nine Masters quarters (Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray were also still active at the time).
He also achieved the Grand Slam quarter-final feat in 2024 when he made the last eight of the French Open before losing against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Dimitrov has also only won one Masters title, the 2017 Cincinnati Open, while he lost in two other finals and is yet to reach the final of a Grand Slam.
4. Daniil Medvedev – 2004
The 2021 US Open winner completed his Grand Slam QF milestone in 2023 when he reached the semi-final at Wimbledon. At that point, he had won the US Open, twice finished runner-up at the Australian Open and made it to the last eight at Roland Garros.
His Masters QF achievement came in 2024 when he made it to the last eight at the Madrid Open.
Medvedev is a five-time ATP Masters 1000 title winner while he has also finished runner-up four times.

5. Andrey Rublev – 2024
Rublev is the Grand Slam quarter-final master as he has reached the last eight of the majors on 10 occassions, but lost all 10 of those matches.
He has a better record at Masters level as he won the 2023 Monte Carlo Masters and the 2024 Madrid Open.
He reached his ninth different ATP 1000 quarter-final at the 2024 Canadian Open and he went on to reach the final before losing against Alexei Popyrin.
6. Carlos Alcaraz – 2025
The Spaniard is just one Australian Open title away from completing the Career Grand Slam as he won the US Open in 2022, Wimbledon in 2023 and the French Open in 2024.
Alcaraz’s best performances so far at Melbourne Park are two quarter-final appearances as he reached the last eight in 2024 and 2025.
Meanwhile, the Italian Open was the last Masters 1000 quarter-final missing and he notched that up in 2025 when he defeated Karen Khachanov in straight sets, becoming the second youngestto reach the last eight of all nine Masters events as he was 22 years and 13 days at the time while Rafael Nadal was 21 years and 154 days.
Alcaraz has so far won four of the nine ATP Masters events as he has lifted trophies in Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid and Monte Carlo.
