Novak Djokovic has achieved yet another Grand Slam milestone with his latest win at Wimbledon helping him to equal a long-standing Chris Evert achievement.

The tennis great is a serial record collector at the four majors with his biggest no doubt his 24 Grand Slam trophies, a feat he shares with Margaret Court although he does have the outright record during the Open Era.

Djokovic’s last eight win over Flavio Cobolli at Wimbledon 2025 has seen him reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the 52nd time, drawing level with 18-time Grand Slam winner Evert for the most, across both men’s and women’s tennis.

Evert’s milestone run started at the 1971 US Open – her Grand Slam debut – with her final last-four appearance at a major coming at Wimbledon in 1989 when she lost against Steffi Graf.

Although Djokovic made his bow at the majors in 2005, his first semi-final appearance arrived two years later at Roland Garros in 2007 with his most recent at Wimbledon.

The Serbian, of course, can still claim the outright record, but Evert’s strike rate is unlikely to be broken – ever! The former world No 1’s 52 Grand Slam semi-finals came in only 56 main draw appearances while Djokovic’s 52 are spread across 78 appearances.

But a record is a record, and he admitted after his latest achievement that he has a big team to help him achieve these milestones.

“I have about 10 people in my team daily working on every single aspect of my on-court, off-court career and preparation and recovery,” the legend said.

“Sometimes I get tired of all the chores that I have to do on a daily basis to get my body ready to be able to perform. It’s a lot of hours, a lot of hours spent off the court, in the gym, or on the table just trying to work with what I have.

“Look, I’m very satisfied as a 38-year-old to be able to move the way I’m doing, that I’m moving right now and playing, so…

“It is and it has always been my greatest goal to do well in Slams. I’m, again, in another great position. Let’s see.”

Djokovic’s Grand Slam “most” records in the Open Era

As mentioned already, he is tied with Court on 24 for most Grand Slams in tennis, but he does have the Open Era record as 13 of the Australian’s titles came before the sport turned professional.

Most Grand Slam finals

Djokovic sits on 37 and he can still add to that if he reaches this year’s Wimbledon final while Evert finished her career with 34 and Serena Williams bowed out with 33. Roger Federer (31) is second in terms of men with Rafael Nadal (30) third.

Most Grand Slam semi-finals

Djokovic and Evert are now tied on 52 with Federer on 46 and Martina Navratilova on 44.

Most Grand Slam quarter-finals

The Serbian made his 63rd last-eight appearance at a major at Wimbledon. Federer had 58 while Evert and Williams are on 54.

Most Grand Slam matches played

Djokovic’s match against Cobolli was his 445th at Grand Slam level with Federer playing 429 and Williams 423.

Most Grand Slam matches won

The 38-year-old recorded his 392 win at the majors with the victory over Cobolli while Federer had 369 and Williams 367.

Miscellaneous

Djokovic is the only player – men or women – to have reached the semi-final of all four Grand Slams at least once after turning 35.

Of course, there are one or two other records he could add to his collection at Wimbledon, which won’t be overall Grand Slam records, but he could tie Federer for most Wimbledon titles on eight with Martina Navratilova on nine.
