The Masters tournament then switched to the clay courts of La Caja Magica in 2009 — and it has remained there ever since.

Here are the five players with the most ATP singles wins at the Madrid Open.

5. Alexander Zverev – 25

Alexander Zverev is making his eighth Madrid Open appearance at the ongoing 2025 edition of the tournament, and his third round victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina was his 25th in the Spanish capital.

3. Novak Djokovic – 30

Novak Djokovic has accumulated 30 match wins at the Madrid Open from his 13 appearances at the tournament to date.

The Serbian won six matches across the three indoor-hard court editions he played between 2006 and 2008.
