Rafael Nadal has won more Masters 1000 titles on clay than the next three players on the list combined, with both Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer making the top four.

The ‘King of Clay’ is one of just two players to reach double figures for Masters crowns on the surface, while there are four players tied on four titles.

There have been four Masters events played on clay since the category of tournament was introduced in 1990.

The Monte Carlo Masters and the Italian Open have been ever-present, while the Madrid Open replaced the Hamburg Masters as a clay-court Masters event in 2009.

Here, we look at the eight players who have won the most Masters titles on clay.

Carlos Alcaraz has secured four of the seven Masters 1000 titles he has won on clay (57.1%), having amassed a 4-0 record in clay Masters title matches.

The Spaniard has triumphed at each of the current clay-court Masters tournaments, having won the Madrid Open on two occasions and the Monte Carlo Masters and the Italian Open once each.

=5. Alexander Zverev – 4

Alexander Zverev has won four of his seven Masters 1000 titles on clay courts (57.1%). He holds a 4-2 record in clay-court Masters 1000 finals.

The German has won two of the three current Masters events played on clay, having claimed two titles in both Madrid and Rome.

=5. Gustavo Kuerten – 4

Gustavo Kuerten lifted four of the five Masters titles he won at clay-court tournaments (80%). He had a 4-2 record in Masters championship matches on clay.

The Brazilian won each of the three clay-court Masters events held during his career, having collected two titles in Monte Carlo and one in both Rome and Hamburg.

=5. Andrei Medvedev – 4

Andrei Medvedev claimed all four of his Masters crowns on clay, having accumulated a 4-0 record in Masters finals on the surface.

The Ukrainian’s titles came at two different events as he won the Hamburg Masters three times and the Monte Carlo Masters once.

=3. Roger Federer – 6

Roger Federer won six of his 28 Masters 1000 titles at clay-court events (21.4%). He amassed a 6-10 record in clay-court Masters title matches.

The Swiss triumphed at two different Masters tournaments on clay, winning the German Open in Hamburg four times and the Madrid Masters as a clay event on two occasions.

=3. Thomas Muster – 6

Thomas Muster collected six of his eight career Masters titles on clay (75%), with his wins coming at two different events. He went 6-1 in Masters finals on clay.

The Austrian was a three-time champion at both the Italian Open and the Monte Carlo Masters.

2. Novak Djokovic – 11

Novak Djokovic has won 11 of his record 40 Masters 1000 crowns at clay-court tournaments (27.5%). He holds a 11-8 record in clay-court Masters championship matches.

The Serbian has won each of the three current Masters clay events, having claimed six titles in Rome, three in Madrid and two in Monte Carlo.

1. Rafael Nadal – 26

Rafael Nadal secured 26 of his 36 Masters 1000 titles on clay courts (72.2%) and he is the only player to win four different clay Masters events. He compiled a 26-7 record in Masters title matches on clay.

The Spaniard won the Monte Carlo Masters 11 times, the Italian Open 10 times, the Madrid Open four times as a clay-court tournament, and the Hamburg Masters once.
