The 5 men with the most hard-court Masters 1000 finals: Djokovic moves onto 41, Murray 5th

Novak Djokovic has extended his record for the most hard-court ATP Masters 1000 finals played with his run at the 2025 Miami Open.
Six of the nine current Masters 1000 tournaments are held on hard-court: Indian Wells, Miami, Canada, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris.
Here are the five players who have reached the most championship matches at ATP 1000 level on hard courts.
5. Andy Murray – 18
Andy Murray featured in 21 Masters 1000 finals, 18 of which came at hard-court tournaments.
The Brit reached his maiden Masters final on hard-court at the 2008 Cincinnati Open, while his last title match at this category of event came on the same surface at the 2016 Paris Masters.
Of the hard-court Masters 1000 tournaments, Murray reached five finals in Shanghai, four in Miami, three in both Canada and Cincinnati, two in Paris and one in Indian Wells.
4. Andre Agassi – 19
Andre Agassi played 19 of the 22 Masters finals he contested in his career on hard courts.
The American’s first and final championship matches at Masters tournaments were both on hard-court: at the 1990 Indian Wells Open and the 2005 Canadian Open.
Agassi’s hard-court Masters final appearances include eight title matches in Miami, four in Canada, three in both Indian Wells and Cincinnati, and one in Madrid (hard-court until 2008).
3. Rafael Nadal – 20
Rafael Nadal reached 20 of his 53 Masters 1000 title matches at hard-court events.
The Spaniard played both his first and last Masters 1000 finals on hard courts at the 2004 Miami Open and the 2022 Indian Wells Open.
Nadal made five hard-court Masters finals in each of Indian Wells, Miami and Canada, two in Shanghai, and one at each of Paris, Madrid and Cincinnati.

2. Roger Federer – 34
Roger Federer contested 34 of his 50 championship matches at Masters 1000 level at hard-court tournaments.
The Swiss’ first and last Masters 1000 finals both came on hard courts at the same tournament: the Miami Open in 2002 and 2019.
At hard-court Masters events, Federer made nine finals in Indian Wells, eight in Cincinnati, six in Canada, five in Miami, three in Shanghai, two in Madrid, and one in Paris.

Novak Djokovic has reached 41 of his 60 Masters 1000 finals on hard courts.
The Serbian reached his maiden Masters final on hard-court at the 2007 Indian Wells Open, while his most recent final at this category of event came on the hard courts of the 2025 Miami Open.
Of the hard-court Masters 1000 tournaments, Djokovic has reached nine finals in Paris, eight in both Cincinnati and Miami, six in Indian Wells, and five in both Canada and Shanghai.
