Ivan Lendl reached eight consecutive US Open finals between 1982 and 1989 and claimed his three titles in successive years from 1985-1987.

For his final victories at Flushing Meadows, the Czech legend saw off John McEnroe in 1985, Miroslav Mecir in 1986 and Mats Wilander in 1987.
