The back-to-back Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami are two of the most prestigious tournaments in tennis and they have each been dubbed ‘the fifth Slam’ at different points in their history.

Here, we look at the five players who have won the most men’s singles matches across both Indian Wells and Miami.

5. Pete Sampras – 73

Pete Sampras registered 73 wins at the two Sunshine Double tournaments.

The American won more matches at the Miami Open than any other Masters series event, having compiled a 42-10 record from his 14 appearances between 1989 and 2002.

The 14-time major titlist finished his Indian Wells career with a 31-12 record spread across 14 appearances between 1988 and 2002.

4. Andre Agassi – 98

Andre Agassi racked up 98 wins in Indian Wells and Miami combined.

The American amassed a 61-13 record from his 19 appearances at the Miami Open between 1987 and 2005, making it his most successful Masters event for match wins.

The eight-time Grand Slam winner holds a 37-16 record across his 18 campaigns in Indian Wells between 1986 and 2006.

3. Rafael Nadal – 99

Rafael Nadal earned 99 victories at the back-to-back Masters 1000 tournaments in the United States.

The Spaniard accumulated a 59-11 record from his 15 appearances in Indian Wells between 2004 and 2022.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion holds a 40-12 record at the Miami Open, where he competed on 12 occasions between 2004 and 2017.

2. Novak Djokovic – 100

Novak Djokovic won his 100th match across both Indian Wells and Miami at the 2025 edition of the latter tournament.

The Serbian holds a 51-11 match record at the Indian Wells Masters from his 16 campaigns between 2006 and 2025.

The 24-time major champion, meanwhile, moved to 49-7 at the Miami Open after reaching the final at this year’s event, which is his 14th appearance. Djokovic made his Miami debut in 2006.

Roger Federer holds the record for the most matches won across the tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami by an impressive margin.

The Swiss earned more wins at the Indian Wells Open than any other Masters event, having amassed a 66-13 record from his 18 appearances between 2001 and 2019.

The 20-time major winner compiled a 56-14 record at the Miami Open from his 18 campaigns at the event between 1999 to 2019.
