The most 6-0 sets won at Grand Slam tournaments: Novak Djokovic sets new record

Novak Djokovic joined a historic Wimbledon club on Saturday, becoming just the second man in the Open Era to win 100 singles matches at the tournament.
However, his 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 triumph over compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic also saw him set another new record.
By winning the second set 6-0, Djokovic has now won more bagel sets at Grand Slams than any other man in the Open Era.
Here, we look at the five men with the most 6-0 sets won at Grand Slam tournaments.
=4) Rafael Nadal – 44
Kicking off this list is 22-time Grand Slam champion Nadal, who won an impressive 44 6-0 sets during his long and hugely successful career.
Nadal was just 18 when he won a bagel set for the first time at a Grand Slam, winning the first set 6-0 in a five-set triumph over Ivo Heuberger at the 2004 US Open.
The Spaniard’s final Grand Slam bagel also came at Flushing Meadows, a 6-0, 6-1, 7-5 victory over Richard Gasquet back in 2022.
Nadal never lost a Grand Slam match in which he won a bagel set, with 24 of his 6-0 sets coming during his reign at Roland Garros.
=4) Jimmy Connors – 44
Level with Nadal on 44 6-0 sets is eight-time Grand Slam champion Connors, one of the most dominant players tennis has ever seen during the peak of his powers.
Connors’ first-ever Grand Slam bagel came during a four-set win over Jaime Fillol in the fourth round of Wimbledon in 1974, on his way to the title, while he bagelled Ken Rosewall in the US Open final that summer.
The American’s 44th and final Grand Slam bagel also came at Wimbledon in 1991, thanks to a 6-2, 6-0, 7-5 victory over Veli Paloheimo in the first round.
Connors lost just three matches at majors when winning a 6-0 set, with John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, and Andre Agassi the only people to beat him.
3) Roger Federer – 46
Narrowly ahead of both Connors and Nadal is Federer, who won 46 bagel sets across his long career.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion won his first major bagel set against Lars Burgsmuller in the second round of the 2003 Australian Open when he was just 21 years old.
His 46th and final 6-0 set came 16 years later at the 2019 US Open, an emphatic 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 win over David Goffin in the round of 16.
Federer was never beaten in a Grand Slam match in which he won a 6-0 set, with the Australian Open (15 wins) providing the largest number of those victories.

2) Andre Agassi – 50
Before Djokovic, tennis superstar Agassi was the only man to have won 50 bagel sets at Grand Slam tournaments in the Open Era.
Agassi’s first 6-0 set at a Grand Slam came when he was just 18 years old at the 1988 French Open, with the American sealing a four-set win over Magnus Gustafsson in the fourth round.
His final two bagel sets at Grand Slams came at the 2005 Australian Open, with one 6-0 set in both his round one win over Dieter Kindlmann and in round two versus Rainer Schuttler.
Agassi lost just one Grand Slam match in which he won a 6-0 set, his five-set quarter-final defeat to David Wheaton at Wimbledon in 1991.
1) Novak Djokovic – 51
Now the outright record holder, Djokovic broke Agassi’s record with back-to-back matches with bagels at Wimbledon this year.
The Serbian beat Dan Evans 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 to reach the third round at SW19, where Saturday’s win over Kecmanovic saw him set a new record.
Djokovic’s first and second Grand Slam bagels had initially come in the same match, a 6-0, 6-0, 6-3 French Open round one over Robby Ginepri that was also his first-ever win at a major.
Much like Federer and Nadal, Djokovic has also never lost a Grand Slam match in which he has won a set 6-0.
