Top 7 most men’s Grand Slam quarter-finals reached as Novak Djokovic extends record
Novak Djokovic’s fourth round victory against Holger Rune at Wimbledon saw him reach his 60th Grand Slam quarter-final.
The Serbian broke Roger Federer’s record to become the man with the most appearances in the last eight of a Major after defeating Francisco Cerundolo in the last 16 at the 2024 French Open.
Here are the seven men who have reached the most Grand Slam singles quarter-finals in the Open Era.
7. Andy Murray – 30
Andy Murray has made the quarter-finals or better at Grand Slam tournaments on 30 occasions, with the last of these coming at Wimbledon in 2017 — the year he suffered a career-threatening hip injury.
The Brit reached 10 quarter-finals at Wimbledon in consecutive years from 2008 to 2017, while he has made the last eight at both the Australian Open and Roland Garros seven times. The three-time Major champion also reached six US Open quarter-finals.

6. Ivan Lendl – 34
Ivan Lendl reached 34 Grand Slam quarter-finals in his career, with the first and last of these coming at the US Open in 1980 and 1992 respectively.
The Czech-American great progressed to the last eight of the US Open on 12 occasions, compared to eight times at the Australian Open and seven at both the French Open and Wimbledon.
5. Andre Agassi – 36
Andre Agassi made 36 appearances in Major quarter-finals, with his first at the 1988 French Open and his last coming 17 years later at the 2005 US Open.
The American icon reached the last eight 13 times at his home Grand Slam, nine times at Roland Garros and seven times at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
4. Jimmy Connors – 41
Jimmy Connors made the quarter-finals at Grand Slam events 41 times, having first made the last eight at the 1972 Wimbledon Championships. His final Major quarter-final came almost 20 years later at the 1991 US Open.
The legendary American reached 17 US Open quarter-finals, while he made this stage 14 times at Wimbledon and on eight occasions at Roland Garros.
Connors also made the last eight in his only two Australian Open appearances, where he won the title in 1974 and was a runner-up in 1975.
3. Rafael Nadal – 47
Rafael Nadal has reached the last eight at Majors on 47 occasions, with his first quarter-final run coming at the 2005 French Open. His most recent appearance at this stage of a Grand Slam was at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.
The Spanish icon has made at least the quarter-finals at Roland Garros 16 times, compared to 14 times at the Australian Open, nine times at the US Open and eight times at Wimbledon.
2. Roger Federer – 58
Federer reached 58 Grand Slam quarter-finals in his career, the first of which came at Roland Garros in 2001, while his final last eight run was over 20 years later at Wimbledon in 2021.
The Swiss maestro made 18 quarter-final appearances at Wimbledon, 15 at the Australian Open, 13 at the US Open and 12 at the French Open.

1. Novak Djokovic – 60
With his run at the 2024 French Open, Djokovic broke the record for the most Major quarter-finals reached with 59. The 37-year-old extended his record by progressing to the last eight of a Grand Slam for the 60th time at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
The Serbian legend first advanced to the last eight of a Grand Slam at the French Open in 2006 — the first of 18 quarter-final appearances at Roland Garros.
Djokovic has reached the quarter-finals at the Australian Open and Wimbledon 14 times each, while he has made 13 runs to this stage of the US Open.
