7) France – 3 victories
France has won three titles and reached three more finals, all in the past 30 years.
The nation won the Billie Jean King Cup for the first time in 1997 and triumphed for the second time in 2003, before their most recent triumph in 2019.
France was also the event runners-up in 2004, 2005, and 2016.
6) Italy – 4 victories
Italy’s golden generation featuring the likes of Francesca Schiavone, Flavia Pennetta, Sara Errani, and Roberta Vinci guided the nation to four titles in seven years.
The nation lifted the title for the first time in 2006 and then sealed back-to-back triumphs in 2009 and 2010.
Italy’s fourth and most recent triumph came in 2013, while they were also finalists in 2007 and 2023.

3) Australia – 7 victories
A dominant tennis nation of the 1960s and 1970s, Australia sits third in the all-time standings thanks to seven tournament titles.
Australia sealed back-to-back titles in 1964 and 1965, before claiming a third title in 1968.
After reclaiming the title in 1970 they then successfully defended their crown in 1971, before further triumphs in 1973 and 1974.
The nation has reached a further 12 finals, though it is now five decades since it lifted the title.
2) Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic – 11 victories
The second most successful nation in BJK Cup, two sustained periods of dominance have seen Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic win an impressive 11 tournament titles.
After a first triumph in 1975, the likes of Hana Mandlikova and Helena Sukova spearheaded a run that saw them claim three titles from 1983-1985 and a further triumph in 1988.
Czech Republic, thanks to the likes of Petra Kvitova, then won five titles in seven years in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, and most recently in 2018.
The nation was also the runner-up in 1986.
1) USA – 18 victories
Well out in front is the United States, with an impressive 18 victories across the tournament’s history.
The US were the inaugural champions in 1963 and won the event three more times before the decade was out, in 1966, 1967, and 1969.
With Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova among the players at their disposal, the US won seven straight titles from 1976-1982, with further triumphs coming in 1986, 1989, and 1990.
Victories in 1996, 1999, and 2000 were followed by their most recent triumph in 2017, while they have reached a further 12 finals.
