There are 16 women who hold a 100% win rate in Grand Slam finals, with Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu three of the six active WTA players on the list. 

Nine players have triumphed in their only appearance in a major women’s singles final, while four stars are unbeaten having featured in three or more title matches.

Here are the 16 women with a 100% record in Grand Slam singles finals in the Open Era.

Chris O’Neil

In her only major final appearance, unseeded Australian Chris O’Neil downed eighth seed Betsy Nagelsen 6-3, 7-6(3) at the 1978 edition of her home Grand Slam.

Barbara Jordan

Fifth-seeded American Barbara Jordan saw off No 4 seed Sharon Walsh 6-3, 6-3 to triumph at the 1979 Australian Open in her only Grand Slam final.

Sue Barker

Sue Barker was the No 1 seed at the 1976 French Open when she earned a 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 win over the unseeded Renata Tomanova in the final to win her only major.

Iva Majoli

In her only Grand Slam final, Croatia’s Iva Majoli, who was seeded ninth, stunned top seed Martina Hingis 6-4, 6-2 to win the 1997 French Open.

Anastasia Myskina

At the 2004 edition of Roland Garros, No 6 seed Anastasia Myskina cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over fellow Russian and ninth seed Elena Dementieva in her only major final appearance.

Flavia Pennetta

Flavia Pennetta, who was seeded 26th at the 2015 US Open, defeated unseeded Italian countrywoman Roberta Vinci 7-6(4), 6-2 in her lone Grand Slam championship match.

Jelena Ostapenko

In Jelena Ostapenko’s only major final to date, the Latvian, who was unseeded, stunned third seed Simona Halep 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the 2017 French Open.

At the 2019 US Open, Canada’s Bianca Andreescu, the 15th seed, downed No 8 seed Serena Williams 6-3, 7-5 to prevail in her only appearance in a Grand Slam championship match so far.

Emma Raducanu

British qualifier Emma Raducanu stunned the tennis world by winning the 2021 US Open without losing a set — a run that concluded with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over the unseeded Leylah Fernandez in her lone major final to date.

Tracy Austin

Third-seeded Tracy Austin defeated top seed Chris Evert 6-4, 6-3 in the championship match at the 1979 US Open to win her first Grand Slam title.

The American was the No 3 seed again at the 1981 US Open — at which she battled to a 1-6, 7-6(4), 7-6(1) victory over fourth seed Martina Navratilova in her second and last major final.

Barbora Krejcikova

An unseeded Barbora Krejcikova overcame 31st seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 to win her maiden Grand Slam singles final at the 2021 edition of Roland Garros.

The Czech then secured her second major title from as many final appearances with her 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory over seventh seed Jasmine Paolini at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, where she was the No 31 seed.

Virginia Wade

In her three major final appearances, Great Britain’s Virginia Wade overcame Billie Jean King at the 1968 US Open, Evonne Goolagong at the 1972 Australian Open, and Betty Stove at the 1977 Wimbledon Championships.

America’s Jennifer Capriati defeated Martina Hingis in the final of the Australian Open in both 2001 and 2002, while she edged out Kim Clijsters in the 2001 French Open title match in her other major final.

The Japanese defeated Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka in her US Open title matches, while she saw off Petra Kvitova and Jennifer Brady in her Australian Open finals.

Iga Swiatek has the best Grand Slam final win rate of any woman, with a perfect record from her five championship matches. The 23-year-old is only the second woman in the Open Era to win their first five major title matches after Monica Seles.

The Pole is a four-time French Open champion, having downed Sofia Kenin, Coco Gauff, Karolina Muchova and Jasmine Paolini in her four finals at Roland Garros. She defeated Ons Jabeur in the final of the 2022 US Open to secure her other major crown.
