Martina Navratilova holds the record for the most matches won at the WTA Finals — and she has a huge lead at the top of the list with her remarkable tally. 

Serena Williams and Steffi Graf also feature among the tennis icons who make up the list.

Three players have won over 30 matches at the women’s year-end championships, which was held for the first time in 1972.

Here, we look at the six women who have won the most matches at the WTA Finals.

Maria Sharapova won 21 of the 32 matches she featured in during her eight appearances at the WTA Finals.

The Russian, a five-time major champion, won her only WTA Finals title on her debut in 2004, while she played the event for the last time in 2015.

=5. Gabriela Sabatini – 21

Gabriela Sabatini earned 21 wins from the 30 matches she played in her 10 campaigns at the year-end championships.

The Argentine made her WTA Finals debut in 1986 and her last appearance in 1995. The 1990 US Open winner triumphed at the WTA Finals twice.

4. Serena Williams – 29

Serena Williams amassed 29 victories from the 35 matches she contested in her nine campaigns at the WTA Finals.

The American triumphed at the WTA Finals on both her first and final appearances at the event in 2001 and 2014 respectively. The 23-time major winner collected five titles at the year-end championships.

3. Steffi Graf – 33

Steffi Graf won 33 of the 41 matches she competed in during her 13 campaigns at the WTA Finals.

The German made her debut at the year-end championships in 1986 and her final appearance at the event in 1998. The 22-time Grand Slam winner secured five WTA Finals crowns.

2. Chris Evert – 34

Chris Evert accumulated 34 wins from the 43 matches she contested at the year-end championships.

The American won the inaugural edition of the WTA Finals in 1972, while she played the event for the 13th and last time in 1988. The 18-time major champion won the year-end championships on four occasions.

1. Martina Navratilova – 60

Martina Navratilova earned a record 60 victories from the 73 matches she played at the WTA Finals.

The Czech-American made her debut at the year-end championships in 1974, while her 21st and final appearance came in 1994. The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion won the WTA Finals eight times.
