WATCH: The French Open doubles encounter with match-fixing allegation clouds hanging over it

An investigation has been launched into alleged match-fixing in a women’s doubles match at the French Open following “abnormal betting” on a specific game.
The match in question is Russian Yana Sizikova and American Madison Brengle’s first-round clash against Romanian duo Andrea Mitu and Patricia Maria Tig on September 30.
Mitu and Tig won the match 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, but it is Sizikova’s service game at 2-2 in the second set that is under scrutiny.
The Russian was broken to love after hitting two double faults and German newspaper Die Welt claims hundreds of thousands of euros were placed on a break of serve in the fifth game.
I was told by several sources that many bookmakers issued alerts for abnormal betting in Sizikova/Brengle match at Roland Garros, Set 2 Game 5, Sizikova on serve to get broken. She got broken to love. This is the video of the game (thanks to @UnArdeal for finding the video). pic.twitter.com/OPSO6hBjJj

According to Reuters, French prosecutors confirmed that an investigation into “fraud in an organised group” and “active and passive corruption” has been launched.
However, the Tennis Integrity Unit confirmed that they have been made aware of the investigation, but declined to comment.
