Nick Kyrgios ‘pretty pumped’ as he prepares for TV return at Wimbledon after BBC snub
Nick Kyrgios may have been omitted from the BBC’s commentary roster for Wimbledon 2025, but the Aussie maverick will have a chance to give his verdict on finals weekend after all.
Kyrgios, who was a 2022 finalist at Wimbledon, has always been forthright in his opinions of the game, with his confrontational style often sparking debate.
Now he will bring his forthright views to TNT Sport viewers, where he will be joined by former British No 1 Dan Evans and the colourful American, CoCo Vandeweghe.
“Nick is great, I know him really well,” Evans told Tennis365. “We have played doubles together a few times and we have had a chat about what we are doing this weekend. He was pretty pumped about it.
“It will be pretty cool to talk tennis with the other two on the panel and all know Nick always has a lot to say, so it should be good viewing.”

Evans is relishing the chance to work with Kyrgios and and he admits he is eager to experience life in the analyst’s role for the biggest weekend of the British tennis year.
“It’s going to be great fun,” he continued. “This is something different for me and the type of broadcast we are going to go on TNT Sports is going to be a little different as well, so hopefully people enjoy it.
“The opportunity came up and there is a good cast with Kyrgios and CoCo Vandeweghe and Craig Doyle as the presenter. It sounded fun and it will be nice to watch the men’s and women’s finals from a different perspective.
“Hopefully the viewers will think that I might know a bit and have something to offer, so I’m looking forward to it.
“One of the reasons it interested me is I’m not commentating on the match. It’s not full on for five hours and is a lot more relaxed, so hopefully we can give viewers something different than they normally get when they watch the Wimbledon finals on TV.”
Evans insists he has not thought about life after his tennis career, as he is eager to build on the progress he made on grass courts this summer and battle his way back up the rankings.
“I will probably think about commentary and that kind of thing when I’m finished playing, but for now my focus in on what comes next,” he added.
“The grass court season went well for me. I had some good wins at Queen’s and Eastbourne and getting a win at Wimbledon was great. Coming up against Novak (Djokovic) in the second round was a tough draw, but it has given me confidence to kick on for more now.”
Watch both singles’ finals from Wimbledon live on TNT Sports and its streaming platform discovery+ this weekend with Nick Kyrgios, CoCo Vandeweghe and Dan Evans offering their own insights and analysis during both matches. Coverage for the ladies’ and the gentlemen’s singles finals begins at 3:30pm.
