Peng Shuai news: Meeting with IOC will be under strict Covid-19 measures

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has revealed the meeting with Peng Shuai will be under strict under very strict COVID-19 countermeasures.
Shuai accused former Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli of coercing her into having sex but later denied the allegations.
The 36-year-old met with IOC officials on 21 November 2021.
The IOC confirmed the first meeting with the Chinese was intense and expect the same feeling when the two parties meet again at the Winter Olympics later this year.
The Olympics organisation is adamant the Shuai issue will be resolved with the relevant stakeholders.
“In this way, we got to know each other better. For instance, she told us that she is looking forward to the upcoming Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and intends to follow the competitions and her fellow Chinese Olympians closely,” said the statement as per Reuters.
“This meeting will happen during the Games. In arranging the different conversations, the Chinese Olympic Committee has always been very supportive and will also ensure that the meeting can happen even under very strict COVID-19 countermeasures and in the closed loop that is in place during the Games.”
