Stefanos Tsitsipas gives fans the answer they wanted over Paula Badosa love story

Paula Badosa confirmed her relationship with Stefanos Tsitsipas was over prior to the Rome Masters earlier this month, but now the golden couple of tennis are back together.
Former world No 2 Badosa and top ten star Tsitsipas have created headlines aplenty since their relationship was revealed, with an Instagram account devoted to their romance attracting huge attention.
Yet that social media account was taken down at the start of May, with Badosa confirming soon after that she had broken up with her Greek partner.
“After careful consideration and many cherished moments together, Stefanos and I have decided to amicably part ways,” she said.
“We have shared a journey filled with love and learning, and it is as friends with immense mutual respect that we now choose to move forward on our own paths.
“As we transition into this new chapter of our lives, we continue to wish each other nothing but the best in all our endeavours.
“We kindly ask for privacy during this time, and we thank you for your understanding and respect.”
She went on to expand on the reasons for the split, as she offered up kind words for Tsitsipas in Rome.

“Emotionally, it hasn’t been easy these past days, but I’m a strong person, so I’m trying to deal with everything as much as I can. I’m quite proud of myself, with how I’m doing,” she stated.
“When we were great, the relationship was great. Other times, we have our own careers, our own things, and sometimes it’s better to separate ways.
“This reminds me a lot of the story of Maria and Grigor, where you meet the right person but maybe at the wrong moment. It’s a little bit like this.
“We have a great relationship between us. He’s a great guy and I wish him the best. I know that it’s the same on his side. I have so much support from everyone: my family, my team, my friends. I even feel support from his team and his family.
“They’ve all been very supportive of both of us. In the end, it was nothing bad that happened. It’s just life.”
Those words were muttered just three weeks ago, but the couple were seen holding hands in Monte Carlo last week and now Tsitsipas has confirmed the romance with Badosa is back on.
“We are together. I’m going to explain why some people create different stories about us,” Tsitsipas told reporters.
“It’s not that I care, but I don’t think people should take it like that. Paula didn’t do anything wrong and neither did I. It was hard for us to be apart and I was also going through difficult times.
“I would say that I didn’t take it very well either, because I felt the pressure of the tour, of my work. It seemed like a mountain to combine the two things (tennis and romantic life) and I made the decision to take a break.
“After two or three weeks I realized that she is a person who has supported me a lot and, when she tried to talk to me again, I felt how intense the love we have for each other is.
“I realised that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had. That gives more value to everything I do and I want her by my side whenever possible. So yes, we have reconnected and we are in a good place.”
