Morgan Riddle reveals weapon Taylor Fritz wanted to use on burglars in ‘scary’ incident
Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle were hoping to enjoy a peaceful few days in London before they travel to Turin for the ATP Finals, but that was shattered as they faced the threat of a break-in at their rented house.
One of the most glamorous couples in tennis hired an Airbnb property in what appears to be a plush part of London, but they were shocked to be woken early in the morning by criminals attempting to break in.
Morgan gave details of the scary incident on her Instagram account, where she has 406k followers.
“At 4am this morning, Taylor and I wake up to someone trying to enter the code and break into the front door of the Airbnb we’re staying at in London,” she wrote.
“I tell Taylor to run and lock the secondary lock as they’re standing outside trying to get in and ITS BEEN REMOVED???”
Morgan posted an image of Taylor armed with one of the Head tennis racket as he was prepared to use the weapon that has fired him to the top of the tennis world to protect him and his partner.
This is not the first time Morgan has lived through an experience like this, as she suggested Airbnb houses can be targeted by criminals.
“Airbnb is SO unsafe,” he wrote. “They are intentionally targeted in many cities. Houses are nice for longer stays, but please just stay in a hotel, especially if you are travelling alone or only with girls.
“I swore I’d never stay in one again after my past experiences and clearly didn’t learn my lesson.”
Riddle and Fritz toasted four years together last summer and they are one of the highest-profile couples in tennis, after taking centre stage in the Netflix show Break Point.
In an exclusive interview with Tennis365 last year, Fritz told this website that tennis should do more to promote personalities in the game as it looks to attract new audiences.

“I think that is the most important thing we need to do in our sport, to raise the profile of our sport,” Fritz told Tennis365.
“When I think back to tennis players and sports stars that I admired or paid attention to it was always because firstly I valued their abilities on the court or on the field, and secondly because I connected with their story and the stories of those around them.
“Tennis has to do a better job in telling those stories. If you look at F1 now for example, people are captivated by F1 because Drive to Survive did an amazing job of letting people into that world and told the stories of the drivers.
“Now the fans feel more connected than ever because they know the man under the helmet, and because of that, they feel more invested.
“I grew up gaming a lot (still do) and watching YouTube videos and YouTube creators, so I know how many alternative entertainment options there are out there for young people.
“We as a sport have to figure out how to better reach that audience and bring a younger crowd into tennis. I don’t know what the answer is, but we have to make some changes to find a better balance between the great traditions of tennis, which I love and value, and what that new audience is looking for.”
