New Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova has asked fans to help support a new Lego model of SW19’s iconic Centre Court.

Krejcikova’s penchant for Lego emerged on Twitter/X during this year’s Championships, where she revealed during a Q+A on the site that building models were a way of killing time in between matches.

It was a relaxed approach that clearly worked for the Czech star, who surprised the tennis world by winning her second Grand Slam singles title last weekend.

The 31st seed had been in poor form throughout most of 2024 but shocked Danielle Collins, Jelena Ostapenko, and Elena Rybakina on her way to the final – before beating Jasmine Paolini in the final.

Having won fans over throughout the tournament thanks to her engaging online presence Krejcikova, who also won the French Open in 2021, has asked fans to help bring a new Lego model to life.

On Lego Ideas, people can currently support a vote for the Danish company to produce a new model of Centre Court, arguably the most famous tennis court in the world.

A description on the page says: “Centre Court is a tennis court at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (also known as the All England Club) and is the main court used in The Championships at Wimbledon, the third annual Grand Slam event of the tennis calendar.

“It is considered the world’s most famous tennis court and legendary tennis matches were played on it. It doesn’t matter who your favourite player is, tennis is for all!

“This court is the place where every tennis player in the world dreams to play, this is the place of passion, the place of sport.

“The set is made of 2827 pieces and it features both the recently added retractable roof (it enables play to continue during rain and into the night) and the iconic scoreboard.”

Posting on Twitter/X sharing the link, the world No 10 wrote: “I would really love to build this. Will you help me by voting for it?”

Whether Krejcikova gets her wish or not remains to be seen, but she has already received a special gift from the company.

In celebration of her triumph last Saturday, the former world No 2 has received a Lego replica of the Venus Rosewater Dish and a Lego racket.
