2025 Bad Homburg Open Entry List: Iga Swiatek returns, when is the draw?

The Bad Homburg Open is the third and final WTA 500 grass-court event being held before Wimbledon – and there is an absolutely stacked entry list.
Six of the players currently inside the WTA Rankings top-10 are entered into the event, with five-time Grand Slam singles champion Iga Swiatek arguably the biggest name entered.
Here, we take a look at the players set to be in action at the crucial Wimbledon warm-up event.
The big names
Former world No 1 Swiatek is arguably the biggest name entered into the draw, with the Pole in action for the first time since the French Open.
Swiatek did not play a warm-up event on grass before Wimbledon in 2024, though she did play in Bad Homburg back in 2023, reaching the semi-final before withdrawing due to illness.
All eyes will be on how the 24-year-old fares on what is widely perceived to be her weakest surface, and on how she fares after a notable dip down the WTA Rankings.
Swiatek has not reached a WTA final in over a year and, now ranked as the world No 8, is currently set to be the fourth seed at the tournament.
The top seed is set to be world No 3 Jessica Pegula, who was beaten in the opening match of her Berlin Open title defence.
The American has had a tricky time in recent months and will look to round back into form ahead of the third Grand Slam of the year.
2024 Wimbledon runner-up and world No 5 Jasmine Paolini is set to be the second seed, with world No 7 Mirra Andreeva the third seed.
Below Swiatek, two more top-10 players have entered the draw in the form of world No 9 Emma Navarro and No 10 Paula Badosa, the fifth and sixth seeds, respectively.
The eight seeds are then rounded out by seventh seed and world No 12 Diana Shnaider, the defending champion, and world No 14 and eighth seed Elina Svitolina.

The wildcards
The tournament has confirmed four wildcards for the tournament, and all of them are notable names.
Perhaps none are more notable than former world No 1 and four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, who will be looking to snap a three-match losing run.
She will be joined by home favourite and recent Queen’s Club champion Tatjana Maria, who will look to again battle her way past the big hitters with her unique style of play.
Home favourite Eva Lys and former world No 3 Maria Sakkari have also received wildcards into the main draw.
Who else is in action?
Four more players will later join the 28-woman draw through qualifying, though outside of the seeds and wildcards there are still some big names in action.
Among them are former world No 4 Belinda Bencic, who has used her protected ranking to enter the draw as she continues her comeback from maternity leave.
Liudmila Samsonova, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Beatriz Haddad Maia have all previously won WTA titles on grass, while 2024 runner-up and Wimbledon semi-finalist Donna Vekic also returns.
Recent ‘s-Hertogenbosch champion Elise Mertens is entered into the tournament, as is former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez, while Linda Noskova and Marta Kostyuk are among the other notable names entered.
When is the draw?
Main draw action at the tournament begins on Sunday, June 22 and concludes on Saturday, June, 28, allowing those deep into the draw to arrive in London in time for Wimbledon.
The draw ceremony for the event will therefore likely be held around Friday lunchtime.
