Miami Open T365 Fantasy Predictions: Swiatek & Sabalenka backed, Alcaraz & Medvedev lead men’s picks

Mirra Andreeva and Jack Draper were surprising champions in Indian Wells – but will the very biggest names in tennis bounce back at the Miami Open?
With action underway at the combined ATP and WTA 1000 event, Tennis365 writers Kevin Palmer, Oli Dickson Jefford, Shahida Jacobs, and Ewan West predict their tournament champions.
Miami Open – Men’s singles
KP: After Jack Draper’s breakthrough win in Miami, look out for Carlos Alcaraz to snap back and win his second Miami Open title.
ODJ: I’ve been burnt picking Daniil Medvedev at tournaments before, but the seventh seed looked in better form in Indian Wells. He’s been a Miami Open champion and semi-finalist in the past two years.
SJ: The bottom half of the draw looks stacked while, in the top half, Alexander Zverev has had a nightmare run and no one is sure if Jack Draper’s body can do back-to-back big events. Going with Daniil Medvedev if he manages to survive the bottom half nightmare.
EW: Carlos Alcaraz has triumphed at either Indian Wells or Miami in each of the last three years, and I’ll back him to continue the trend after leaving the first leg of the Sunshine Double empty handed.

Miami Open – Women’s singles
KP: Aryna Sabalenka looked eager to get back on court after her defeat against Mirra Andreeva in the Indian Wells final. She should be primed to bounce back in Miami.
ODJ: With less pressure than in Indian Wells, a decent draw early on, and perhaps freed up after Monday’s social media post, 2022 champion Iga Swiatek may be in line for a second Miami title.
SJ: There were signs of a return to form for Iga Swiatek in Indian Wells and that run should give her enough confidence to go all the way at the Miami Open.
EW: Aryna Sabalenka’s relative struggles in Miami are surprising given her stellar hard-court record, but I think the world No 1 can go one better than she did in Indian Wells.
T365 Fantasy Game
This season, our writers are competing to see who can earn as many points as possible by predicting the champions at every ATP and WTA-level tournament.
Five points are available for a correct champion pick, with three for a runner-up, and one for a semi-finalist.
This becomes seven points for a champion, five for a runner-up, three for a semi-finalist, and one for a quarter-finalist at Grand Slams.
There were no correct champion predictions this week, though everyone did earn at least one point – with everyone having named men’s singles semi-finalist Alcaraz as their predicted champion.
Oli earned an extra three points, having backed eventual WTA runner-up Sabalenka, while Ewan and Kevin gained a point after picking semi-finalists Swiatek and Madison Keys, respectively.
Four points for Oli extends his lead at the top ahead of Miami.
Standings
1) Oli Dickson Jefford – 60 points
2) Ewan West – 45 points
3) Shahida Jacobs – 34 points
4) Kevin Palmer – 30 points
