Casper Ruud has picked up the full complement of points at an ATP Masters 1000 event for the first time in his career after winning the Madrid Open while he also secured a big pay day.

After two Masters runners-up trophies to go with his three losses in Grand Slam finals, Ruud was finally the last man standing in a “big” event as he defeated Jack Draper in the showpiece match in the Spanish capital.

His 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 victory over the British No 1 also resulted in a jump back into the top 10 of the ATP Rankings as he moved up eight places to No 7.

It is the Norwegian’s first title in 2025 as he previously finished runner-up at the Dallas Open in February with his overall trophy tally now standing at 13.

Draper, meanwhile, came up short of doubling his Masters 1000 trophy collection in the space of a couple of weeks as he followed up his maiden Masters title at the Miami Open with the runners-up prize, but he also earned a boost in the rankings.

ATP Points Earned In Madrid

Ruud was the star man and he collected the full haul of 1,000 points for the ATP Masters victory, but he effectively only added 900 to his tally in the ATP Rankings as he dropped 100 points from his run to the fourth round a year ago.

Draper was also a big winner as 650 points are awarded for finishing runner-up and he went home with 620 once his 30 points from 2024 were deducted.

Semi-finalists earn 400 points and Francisco Cerundolo added half of that to his tally as he reached the quarters 12 months ago while Lorenzo Musetti picked up 350 points.

Jakub Mensik (150), Daniil Medvedev (0), Matteo Arnaldi (170) and Gabriel Diallo (204) lost in the last eight with lucky loser Diallo producing an impressive run.

The Canadian lost in the qualifying round, but then replaced Yoshihito Nishioka in the main draw and ended up beating 15th seed Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round before losing to Musetti in the quarters.

Top seed Alexander Zverev lost in the fourth round, but he picked up zero points as he lost at the same stage in 2024 while Novak Djokovic earned 10 points after his second-round exit.

Andrey Rublev was the defending champion, but he lost in the third round so was -950 and slumped to No 17 in the rankings.

Prize Money Earned In Madrid

Ruud’s career prize money tally grew by €985,030 (roughly $1,1m) after winning the title and he has surged into the top five of the 2025 ATP prize money list as he has cracked the $2m mark while he is on just under $25m.

Draper, who earned $1,201,125 for winning the Miami Open, picked up €523,870 ($595,764).

Semi-finalists Musetti and Cerundolo went home with €291,040 while the four losing quarter-finalists were awarded €165,680.

Zverev and his fellow fourth-round losers picked up €90,445, Rublev €52,925 and Djokovic €30,895.
