What prize money & points did Sonay Kartal & Solana Sierra earn for impressive Wimbledon runs?

Solana Sierra and Sonay Kartal both saw their Wimbledon campaigns come to an end on Sunday, though there are plenty of positives for both women to take.
Sierra was beaten 6-3, 6-2 by Laura Siegemund on Sunday, but not before making history as the first lucky loser in the Open Era to reach the second week of the women’s singles draw.
Kartal was defeated 7-6(3), 6-4 by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova out on Centre Court, though she was the latest British woman standing at the event in 2024.
Though their respective campaigns are over, there will be big prize money and ranking point boosts for both women after reaching the second week.
What prize money have they earned?
By entering the first round of the women’s singles draw, Kartal and Sierra both initially earned £66,000 in prize money.
That was a particular bonus for 20-year-old Sierra, who only found out she was playing in the main draw 15 minutes before her round-one win over Olivia Gadecki, following the withdrawal of Greet Minnen.
Sierra’s win over Gadecki was her first-ever Grand Slam main draw victory, and she backed that up with triumphs over Katie Boulter in round two and Cristina Bucsa in round three.
Meanwhile, after stunning 20th seed Jelena Ostapenko in round one, Kartal beat Viktoriya Tomova and qualifier Diane Parry to reach the second week.
For reaching the fourth round, both women will ultimately take home an impressive £240,000.
That is the biggest payout of Kartal’s career to date, eclipsing her earnings from reaching the third round of Wimbledon in 2024.

Sierra’s run has seen her earn almost half of her entire career earnings before Wimbledon, with the 21-year-old having won $450,948 (approximately £330,000) across her whole career up until this point.
What ranking points have they earned?
Every player in the women’s singles draw earns 10 ranking points merely for entering the event, though both Kartal and Sierra have significantly eclipsed that.
By reaching the fourth round, both will receive an impressive 240 WTA Rankings points.
For Kartal, who reached the third round in 2024, that has provisionally pushed her up seven places to a new career high of world No 44, dependent on other results to come in the event.
Meanwhile, Sierra is set for a stunning surge after her career-changing run.
After earning 30 points during her qualifying campaign and a further 240 points in the main draw, the world No 101 is currently set to surge 35 places to world No 66 in the provisional WTA Rankings.
That is an incredible new career-high for the Argentine, who had a previous career-best ranking of world No 100.
