Coco Gauff: Who is US star’s rumoured boyfriend? Aspiring actor Jalen Sera
Coco Gauff has become one of the biggest stars in tennis ever since her stunning breakthrough at Wimbledon as a 15-year-old back in 2019.
Since then, the now 21-year-old has gone on to scale impressive heights, notably winning the 2023 US Open title and reaching a high of world No 2 in the WTA Rankings.
In recent months, the American has confirmed her status as one of the leading players on the WTA Tour, with triumphs at the China Open and WTA Finals at the end of 2024.
So far, 2025 has seen Gauff reach the Australian Open quarter-final and French Open final, alongside making further WTA 1000 finals at the Madrid Open and Italian Open.
Though she largely lives her life within the spotlight, Gauff has also managed to keep a lot of her life private, including the time she spends with her family.
And, while revealing she is in a relationship, she has never officially confirmed the identity of her partner.
However, it is rumoured that the 21-year-old is in a relationship with Jalen Sera, an aspiring actor who often engages with Gauff on social media.
Who is Jalen Sera?
Speaking to People Magazine back in March 2024, Gauff revealed why she was keen to maintain a strong private life.
She said: “I think I felt like I just, some parts of myself I love to share and then some parts I think I just keep to myself.
“And I think that’s just the beauty of it all, that people still know me and know parts of me, but not everything. So I do feel like my life is a little bit in my hands too.”
However, Gauff has been open about some aspects of her relationship.
The American has revealed that her mum, Candi Gauff, was her partner’s fourth-grade teacher at school, and revealed he was not connected to tennis.

“Some people thought it was someone in tennis, and that couldn’t be further from the truth,” Gauff said in a Vogue interview in 2024.
“He’s a very nice guy. He’s in school now. He’s about to apply for music school. He wants to be an actor, and he plays the guitar.”
That has partially led to the rumours that she is dating Sera, who has three film and TV credits on IMDB, and is known to be an aspiring musician.
Sera, who was born in North Carolina, and Gauff have often posted messages to each other on Instagram stories, and her comments featured prominently on one of just two Instagram main posts he has published.
Gauff also posted a picture from last November, standing next to Sera, alongside a group of other friends at a festival.
Recently, Sera celebrated the 21-year-old’s epic Italian Open win over Zheng Qinwen, where the American battled back to beat her WTA rival in a match lasting over three hours.
He described Gauff as a “warrior” on his Instagram story and has in the past been seen in her coaching box.
